San Diego La Raza Lawyer's Association

The challenge

The San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association (SDLRLA) was formed in 1979 to advance equality, empowerment and justice for Latino attorneys and the wider Latino community in San Diego County. Its membership includes more than 300 attorneys, judges, law students and professionals.

Its previous website still worked, but it had become outdated and hard to navigate:

  • Information on membership tiers, committees and community initiatives was scattered across many pages
  • Slow load times and occasional downtime hurt the experience and search rankings
  • The site did little to show the organization’s work or attract new members

What we did

A new WordPress theme

We built a new WordPress theme from the ground up, with a clean, modern design in the association’s blue and green and crisp whites. Navigation puts About Us, Membership, Blog and Committees within easy reach, and the layout adapts to desktops, tablets and phones. A modular structure with a custom page builder lets the team publish posts, events and scholarship news without technical skills. A rotating homepage banner highlights upcoming events, and a call-to-action section encourages membership sign-ups.

Consolidated information

After a full content audit, we brought scattered content together:

  • Membership: tiers and benefits in one clear table, with direct links to the Neon One membership portal
  • Committees: descriptions and contact details for each committee on a single page
  • About Us: a concise story of the mission and history
  • Blog: a central home for updates, endorsements and community statements

SEO

We kept the theme lightweight with clean code and added schema markup for the organization, events and posts. We rewrote or refined every page around terms such as Latino lawyers San Diego and diversity bar association, optimized blog posts for long-tail searches, wrote concise meta titles and descriptions, and used AI tools to analyze competitors and search trends.

Dedicated hosting

We migrated the site to a dedicated server optimized for WordPress, with exclusive resources, SSL, daily backups, malware scanning and caching. The new site launched in April 2025.
