Accessibility statement

How this site is built to be usable by everyone, the standard it follows (WCAG 2.2 AA), known limitations and how to get help.

  • Last updated October 16, 2026
  • Questions: info@thexconcept.com

I build websites for law firms, healthcare practices, nonprofits and small businesses, and accessibility is part of how every site is built, including this one. Everyone should be able to read about my work and get in touch, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.

Standard

This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidance, Section 508 and the European Accessibility Act.

What I have done

  • Semantic HTML with one main heading per page, a logical heading order, landmarks and a “Skip to content” link.
  • Full keyboard access with visible focus outlines, including menus, sliders, FAQs and dialogs.
  • Text and buttons meet WCAG color contrast ratios; color is never the only way information is shown.
  • Text can be zoomed to 200% and reflows on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
  • Meaningful images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Animations respect the “reduce motion” setting of your device, and background videos can be paused.
  • Forms and controls have labels; dialogs trap focus and close with the Escape key.
  • The cookie banner can be used with a keyboard and screen reader, and accepting and rejecting are equally easy.

Accessibility toolbar

The round accessibility button at the bottom of every page opens a toolbar where you can enlarge text, increase line and letter spacing, switch to a more readable font, highlight links, raise contrast, switch to grayscale, stop animations, enlarge the cursor, use a reading guide and strengthen focus outlines. You can also open it with Alt + A. Your settings are saved on your device only.

Open the accessibility toolbar

The toolbar is a convenience, not a substitute for an accessible site. The site is designed to work with the accessibility features already built into your browser, operating system and assistive technology.

Compatibility

The site is built for recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on desktop and mobile, and for use with a keyboard alone and with common screen readers such as VoiceOver (macOS and iOS) and NVDA (Windows).

Known limitations

  • Older case study images: some screenshots from past projects contain text in images. The same information is given in the surrounding text.
  • Client map: the interactive map is hard to use with a screen reader. The same clients are listed as text in the client directory below the map.
  • Third-party booking (Calendly): the booking window is provided by Calendly. If it does not work for you, email or call me and I will schedule the call directly.
  • Linked documents: some older PDF files may not be fully accessible. Accessible versions are available on request.

How this site is checked

Accessibility is reviewed when pages are built and changed, using automated testing (axe and Lighthouse) together with manual keyboard and screen reader checks. This statement was last reviewed on October 16, 2026.
