Maui Chocolate Coffee Tours
Revamping paradise the redesign of maui chocolate and coffee tours website. Maui Chocolate Coffee Tours, focused on website design, web development in Maui, HI.
The challenge
Maui Chocolate Coffee Tours, a Hawaii Farm Tours business, offers guided visits of Kupa’a Farms in Kula, Maui, where guests explore cacao and coffee orchards. General Manager Ann reached us through a referral from our long-time client Aloha Bars Maui. As a brand-new company, it came to us with a blank canvas and needed a website, a brand identity, online reservations and a social media presence on a careful budget.
Years later, the business was sold from Ann Tuomela to Deliah Dray, who consolidated two tours and the Wholly Cacao tasting events into one private, reservation-only experience. The original site, with separate pages for each offering, now felt crowded and no longer matched the business.
What we did
The original build
We explained the benefits of WordPress and its integrations, then built a complete site with SSL on a shared server that delivered good performance within budget.

We developed a brand identity based on the owners’ ideas, along with traditional marketing materials to reach hotel concierges and local activity providers.

Because the manager already used FareHarbor, we integrated it directly into the site to automate online reservations. We also set up the social media accounts, embedded the Instagram feed and showed the team how to grow organically with an Instagram scheduler and a hashtag generator.
The redesign under new ownership
- Reduced the main pages from seven to four: Home, Tour Details, The Farm and About/Contact, with the blog integrated more fluidly
- A full-width homepage video of cacao pods being opened, larger images, generous white space and Open Sans typography with chocolate-brown headings
- A refreshed palette of cacao browns, coffee-bean blacks and sunset yellows, with subtle animations
- Mobile-first layouts with touch-friendly buttons, lazy-loaded images and page speeds under 2 seconds
- An FAQ, a welcome message and bio from the new owner on The Farm page, and testimonials throughout
- Accessibility through alt text, high-contrast text and keyboard navigation to WCAG standards
- An enhanced FareHarbor widget on the Book Now page, optimized for the single tour
- TripAdvisor and Google review widgets in a carousel on the homepage and tour page
Protecting SEO
The original site ranked well for searches such as Maui chocolate tours and coffee farm Maui. To keep those rankings, we refreshed meta titles and descriptions for the new tour, structured headings, added schema markup for tours and reviews, migrated all historical blog content to preserve backlinks, and linked new posts to the tour pages.
