The challenge

Credit Gnomes provides specialized credit reporting services for property management companies, homeowners associations and residents. Its website, built by an overseas developer, had become a barrier to growth:

• Slow loading caused by unoptimized scripts, bloated code and unnecessary plugins, leading to high bounce rates
• CSS conflicts that broke layouts on different devices
• JavaScript conflicts that stopped interactive elements from working
• An unstable theme that crashed and displayed inconsistently
• The Gutenverse framework, which added complexity and slowed content updates
• Inefficient templates that hurt search rankings
• Communication, time zone and coding-standard issues that delayed fixes

What we did

We re-skinned and optimized the site, working in real time with the Credit Gnomes team as a U.S.-based developer.

Performance and stability

• Minified CSS, JavaScript and HTML, removed redundant plugins and scripts, enabled advanced caching and optimized images
• Restructured the stylesheets into a clean, organized CSS framework to remove conflicts across screen sizes
• Cleaned up JavaScript so all interactive elements work reliably
• Replaced the unstable theme with a reliable, lightweight one
• Moved away from Gutenverse to a more flexible, performance-driven setup with easier content management

We rebuilt the site with clean, semantic HTML, optimized meta tags and descriptions, better URL structures and a clearer content hierarchy for indexing.

Content

The new site clearly presents Credit Gnomes’ four services: Rental Payment Reporting, Resident Benefit Consulting, Commercial Lease Reporting to Equifax, and Homeowners Association Payment Reporting. It also features client success stories and educational articles on the benefits of rent reporting.
