Devaney Pate Morris & Cameron
Modernizing legal excellence the DPMC law website rebuild. Devaney Pate Morris & Cameron, focused on website design, web development in San Diego, CA.
The challenge
Devaney Pate Morris & Cameron (DPMC Law) is a San Diego law firm with more than 200 years of combined legal experience in public entity law and civil litigation, with a downtown San Diego headquarters and a second office in Temecula.
The firm wanted a complete website overhaul that would match the caliber of its service, honoring its legacy while bringing it into modern web design. The site needed to project authority and trust without feeling stuffy, explain multiple practice areas to clients who may not know legal specializations, and make it easy to get in touch.
What we did
A custom WordPress foundation
We built a fully custom design on WordPress so the DPMC team can update content, add news items and manage attorney profiles without a developer, and add practice areas as the firm grows. The site runs on WP Engine managed hosting, with caching, a global CDN, daily backups, threat detection and automatic core and PHP updates.
Design that commands attention
- A homepage video background of the firm’s San Diego office building, establishing its local presence from the first second
- Custom geometric overlays and diagonal section transitions that guide the eye down the page
- Deep navy for trust and stability, with red accents that draw attention to calls to action
- A fully responsive, mobile-optimized layout with one-tap calling and email
Clear information architecture
We organized the practice into two primary divisions, Civil Law and Public Entity Law, each with plainly named practice areas such as Employment Law, Land Use, Design and Construction, Eminent Domain and Condemnation, and Education Law. Each practice area has its own detailed page, which also supports SEO. Attorney profiles with professional photography link from the main navigation, and the homepage showcases the partners.
Conversion and trust features
- A contact form on the homepage and the contact page collecting name, email, phone, subject and message
- Prominent, contrasting calls to action throughout the site
- Addresses, phone and fax numbers for both offices in the footer of every page
- An accessibility toolbar with text sizing, contrast settings, keyboard navigation, screen reader optimization and profiles for different needs
- Cookie consent management, a clear privacy policy and secure form handling
- Performance work on images, code and video loading
We also wrote an About section highlighting the firm’s experience and added news and community involvement sections to keep the site fresh.
